The Kompetenzschule (School of Expertise) is a pilot project at the Research Academy of Leipzig and it is aimed at students taking a doctor’s degree in all subject areas at the colleges and research institutes in Leipzig. Our agenda is facilitating doctoral candidates in planning their careers. We want to do our best to prepare you for the challenges you will be facing in the academic world, the private economy and society at large. We also want to offer you skills that will boost your employability – but that’s not all. We think of ourselves as service providers and we are always open for your suggestions.
Earning a doctor’s degree
You earn the highest academic degree that your faculty can give while doing independent research in your area and creating new scholarship.
Earning a qualification
Set the goals for your later career even when you are earning a doctor’s degree. It doesn’t matter whether you envision a career at college, the private economy, in public service or non-governmental organisations. You not only need expertise, but also extensive key qualifications.
Launching your career
The Kompetenzschule helps you earn qualifications that are sustainable in terms of career development. In contrast to other limited programmes, you can systematically earn specific complexes of scholarship on the highest academic level in our modules.
